What's the difference between % and percentage points?

Percent is relative (from 50% to 60% = +20% change). Percentage points are absolute (from 50% to 60% = +10 percentage points).

How do I calculate discount?

Use 'X% of Y': If something costs $100 and has 20% discount, calculate 20% of 100 = $20. Final price: 100 - 20 = $80.

How do I calculate percentage change?

Formula: ((New Value - Old Value) / Old Value) × 100. Example: From 50 to 75 = ((75-50)/50) × 100 = 50% increase.
